about the project
The Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen is digitalising its extensive holdings of paintings, works on paper and kinetic art, so as to afford greater public access to the collection through digital applications, to optimise the museum’s object management and long-term archiving, and to facilitate conservation measures. Successively, all works will be digitally reproduced in accordance with digitalisation guidelines issued by the Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft (DFG/German Research Foundation). The digitalisation process is being generously subsidised by the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe (LWL).
