About us
Art brings people together. So does friendship.
The Kunstmuseum Gelsenkirchen boasts a unique diversity of art, including Germany’s largest municipal collection of kinetic art, outstanding examples of classical modernism and 20th-century avant-garde art, and changing exhibitions of contemporary art.
By joining the Friends’ Association, you can provide direct and long-term support for the Kunstmuseum's work, for example by helping to fund acquisitions, exhibitions, publications and outreach and educational programmes.
You will also become part of a vibrant network of art and culture enthusiasts. Look forward to exclusive exhibition previews, group excursions including studio and museum visits, and much more. Your membership fee goes entirely towards supporting the Gelsenkirchen Art Museum.

By becoming a member, you will be supporting the future of the Kunstmuseum. All membership fees and donations go towards supporting its work, including exhibitions, educational programmes and acquisitions for the collection.

- A School pupils, apprentices & students (up to the age of 30) €15.00
- B Individuals €75.00
- C Couples €100.00
- D Legal entities & partnerships €300.00
Payment is made exclusively via SEPA direct debit (direct debit authorisation required). The annual fee will be debited from your account by 31 March at the latest. If you join the association in the same year, the payment will be debited immediately upon receipt of your membership confirmation. As the membership fee is treated as a donation, it is tax-deductible as a special expense for income tax purposes.
Termination:
You can cancel your membership in writing at the end of each year, providing three months' notice.
