Villa Kinderbunt - Something's on the move!
Our classic exhibition is now in its third year, and it's time once again to say: Make way for the children of our city!
This time, Villa Kinderbunt is showcasing works by primary school children from across Gelsenkirchen under the title Something's on the Move! Some pieces explore the theme of speed, while others focus on small changes or moments that are easily overlooked. Together, they reveal that movement means far more than simply travelling from one place to another. It can inspire people, open up new paths, and encourage us to see the familiar through fresh eyes. We are particularly delighted that this year's exhibition creates many exciting links to our unique kinetic art collection. Here, too, movement plays an important role, as the artworks change through the use of motors, light, or the viewer’s position. Villa Kinderbunt invites children to play an active role in shaping the museum. By creating their own artworks, they contribute to the exhibition and experience the museum as a place where their perspective matters.
Once again, this year, the public has the opportunity to vote for their favourite artwork. Thanks to the generous support of our patrons, we are able to award three audience prizes once again. So vote enthusiastically and have your say!
To celebrate the exhibition, a catalogue showcasing the artworks submitted by all the participating children will be published as a memento of their creative endeavours.
Villa Kinderbunt is supported by the FRITZ HENKEL Foundation, the GELSENWASSER Foundation, the Norten Foundation and the Sparkasse Gelsenkirchen Foundation.
