Exhibition project for all elementary schools in Gelsenkirchen
Following the successful pilot project in 2024 with over 1,000 children from elementary school in Gelsenkirchen, the Villa Kinderbunt 2025 is entering its second round.
In 2025, the art museum is once again inviting all primary school classes in Gelsenkirchen to create works of art together as a class, which will be presented in a large summer exhibition at the museum.
This year, Villa Kinderbunt is leaving the classic exhibition rooms of the villa and conquering new nooks and crannies of the museum: Villa Kinderbunt is going underground and will take place in the basement of the museum for the first time. For this particularly exciting area, the art museum has chosen the refreshing theme of “Nass - Nasser - Wasser”, giving the Villa Kinderbunt a new scenographic direction: It should flow in the art museum! From the foyer to the stairs and the mezzanine floor to the atrium, whose steps invite visitors to a wave-like presentation, the theme of water will be present in a variety of ways. One of the main aims of the museum is to arouse curiosity and interest in art, to foster creativity and enthusiasm and, last but not least, to create a programme in which children themselves can actively participate. The museum team is looking forward to receiving a wide range of water artworks. There are no requirements as to design, size, technique or choice of materials. Classes are free to participate with either analogue or digital entries.
